Autumn at Moss Lake
This piece is a 3x5’ (yes, that’s 3x5 FEET!) acrylic painting on canvas. I painted an ivory boarder on the edges of this canvas as I wanted to give it a more “framed” look. Normally, I paint the image over the sides of the canvas.
The inspiration behind this painting was my husband Jake, our love for canoeing and obviously the peak foliage here in the Adirondacks. This painting features an early fall morning just after sunrise. Can you imagine the aroma of the freshly fallen leaves? The foliage is just past peak and the water is calm reflecting the mountain in the distance and the moody clouds with the sun peaking through. A perfect morning for leaf…. paddling? Sorry, can’t pass up a pun no matter how bad they are!
